FC Inglewood 2 - 2 FC Hobo
(Week 5, League Game 3)

Location: Turf City, Pitch 4
Time/Date: 11AM, 1st March 2009

Match Report

FC Inglewood held their heads up, after they drew with their 3rd league game's opponent, FC Hobo.

The match kicked-off with the K-9s showing more of their attacking prowess, with Haikal(11) finally
back into the first XI, after sitting out of the game for 2 long years following his knee surgery,
but still not fully fit.

Composure in defense and creativity in offense were displayed throughout the 1st period for the K-9s.

K-9 Haikal(11)'s 25th-min-dribble down the left flank, saw his cross met by Alan(7)'s 1st-timed side
volley went inches off the upright, came closest to drawing the first blood.

Game took to another level when tackles and slides were thrown in by both sets of players.
Well-deserved yellow card was shown to K-9 Syahrul(18)'s ruthless 2-footed challenge.

0-0 half-time.

4 goals were conceded within the 2nd half.

A long throw from K-9's left-winger Taufiq(4) reached Alan(7), whom shielded the ball well and beat
the keeper, enough for Teo(10), whom had a fantastic game out on the right-wing, to tap it home.

65th minute, Alan(7)'s run latched onto a long ball from defense, beat the last man and keeper to
make it 2 up for the K-9s.

Outstanding performance by K-9's make-shift keeper, Terence Chow, was named Man-of-Match. His
well-timed rush-out for 1-on-1, shot stopping ability, and decisive mentality was fabulous. Clean
sheet seems to be insight, until the final 10mins, FC Inglewood's left and right flanks switched
off, and were being exploited quickly by FC Hobo's counter-attacks. Resulting in 2 late-minute
goals, for them to savior 1 point.

Final whistle concluded a 2-2 result.

Great sportsmanship and fair play displayed during the match-up from both teams were commendable.

FC Inglewood 0 - 1 AFA Knights FC
(Week 4, League Game 2)

Location: Bedok Green Secondary School
Time/Date: 11AM, 22th February 2009

Match Report

FC Inglewood saw their 2nd game against AFA Knights to a
high-paced 1-0 defeat.

The K-9s started off the match brilliantly,
but failed to convert the vast possession into goal scoring opportunities.
The Knights were playing great counter-attacking game,
but K-9s' defence were able to hold their grounds.

Till about the 32th-minute,
a very well-composed one-two were executed down Knights left-wing,
breaking them through K-9s defense. 1-0, half-time.

K-9s made changes to their line-up to boost their offense,
and started promisingly into the 2nd period.

In search of an equalizer,
Elfee(14),
Alan(7),
Syahrul(18),
Bernard(38)
scuffed their long-ranged shots.
Efforts from Barry(28) were being smothered by the Knights' young goalie.
Good performance.

Individual brilliance of Knights' Shafiq(19) were outstanding,
and at many times had attempts to widen their lead.
Clock ran down cruelly for the K-9s and with 10 minutes left,
Haikal was brought in to add pace to the attack.
With immediate effect, his quick-feet earned a penalty,
only for Syahrul(18) to direct it straight to the keeper.
Great performance by Haikal after sitting out for 2years,
due to his knee ligament surgery.

Full-time 1-0.

Applause for both team which played high quality football.

Match Report
FC Inglewood started the season off with a breathe-taking victory,
over a team that was on a
winning streak for their first three league games,
Eastern Vale FC.

Looking at themselves 2-0 down, only less than 20mins into the game,
FC Inglewood
deemed themselves to be in trouble.
A change to the line-up is very much needed.

30th-minute,
young striker Gary, was replaced by Alan, and immediately made an impact.
A long
ball up-field by Skipper Razali found Alan's head,
which guided it to partner Yi Yuan.
Resulted in a
goal, factors of miss-time judgement by keeper,
as well as luck.

Half-time 2-1

Inspirational team-talk was given on half time by captain,
boosting all players' morale and fighting spirits.
Quick
equalizer into the 2nd-half by Taufiq,
being able to break their defense and slotted home.
As
quickly as their equalizer, they fell short of a goal again, 3-2.

With lesser than 10-mins left on the clock,
Dian and Teo executed a prodigious 1-2 lob over
opponents' line of defense.
With Elfee off-sided but not after the ball, Dian slithered through the

defense and fired a volley pass keeper, 3-3.

Final minute of the 90,
Alan chested down a poor clearance by opponent's goalie, and with a well

1st-timed through pass to Yi Yuan,
and 1st-touch pass to Taufiq, 1-on-1 goalie, through his legs.
3-4

Well fought battle between both teams.
FC Inglewood's victory over,
unbeatened and well-performed
Eastern Vale FC,
was surely phenomenal.
